The world’s largest cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas has been announced and promises a cruise experience that will be grander and more splendid than ever before. The ship is set to make its maiden voyage in April 2018 from St. Nazaire, France along the picturesque Mediterranean and Caribbean seas to its new home port in Miami. 1. A symphony of epic proportions
Symphony of the Seas surpasses its sister ship, Harmony of the Seas with its sheer size and grandeur. Symphony of the Seas with a 230,000-gross reported tonnage, can house 6,780 passengers and comprises 7 neighbourhoods – Central Park, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, Pool and Sports Zone, Spa and Fitness Centre, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone. The cruise ship is a whopping 215.5 feet wide, 1,188 feet long and has a cruising speed of 22 knots. Its massive passenger capacity also accommodates an international crew comprising 2,175 members. 2. Adventure aboard for the adrenaline junkies
Besides claiming the title of the world’s largest ship, Symphony of the Seas is also set to be synonymous with the most adventure-filled ship. Like its sister ship Harmony, Symphony of the Seas boasts of the world’s biggest ship-mounted water slide ever – the Ultimate Abyss. It is the tallest slide at sea with a whopping 10 stories and a 100-foot drop that twists and turns in a serpentine-like movement as you slide down. 3. Culinary cruising for your palate
Symphony’s suite passengers will be privy to exclusive new dining areas and bars including a suite lounge and private restaurant called Coastal Kitchen and full-service Suite Sun Zone. The ship also boasts of restaurants such as Sabor Modern Mexican, Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, Sorrento’s and Jamie’s Italian among others. The cruise also features The Bionic Bar famous for its dancing robot bartenders, and Izumi, a Japanese cuisine restaurant with an a la carte hibachi, teppanyaki and sushi menu.
4. A spectacular new itinerary
The grandest ship that the world has ever seen will be sailing to some new ports for Oasis class ships that include St. Kitts & Nevis, Costa Maya and Roatán.
